SHPS Postgraduates and Researchers: Literature Searching Part 2: Supplementing your database searches

After you have completed your database searches for your dissertation/research paper you will be expected to supplement your searches by using other sources of information to find peer reviewed studies. Depending on your question, you may also wish to supplement your searches by looking for grey literature e.g. policies, reports, preprints etc.

The first part of this workshop will cover how to search other resources to find more peer reviewed studies. This will include:

  • Citation and Reference Tracking
  • Browsing key journals, open access article collections and institutional repositories.

The second part will cover how to search for grey literature.
