Searching Evidence-Based Literature Online Workshop for NHS Doctors
Who is it for?
Aimed at all physician associates, doctors (all levels) and consultants who work at or affiliated with St George’s Trust who want to find evidence-based literature for their work and CPD.
What does it cover?
In this session, your NHS Librarian will guide you through the NHS Knowledge & Library Hub and other essential online resources (see below).
You'll learn how to navigate these tools efficiently and use them to find high quality evidence-based articles, ebooks, databases, guidelines etc to support your work in patient care, service improvements, teaching, clinical audit or CPD.

- Planning and designing an effective search strategy
- Effective use of search techniques e.g. phrase searching, truncation
- Finding healthcare literature using the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub platform
- Identifying specialist resources e.g. BMJ Best Practice (clinical decision tool), TRIP database, BrowZine Journal, Oxford Medicine Online, Kortex, etc.)
- Subscription to BMJ Case Reports
- Locating, accessing or requesting full text articles via the library services
