SHMS Postgraduates & Researchers: Formulating a research question for your dissertation/research paper
This workshop is aimed at Masters and PhD students, researchers and academics, from the School of Health and Medical Sciences, who are about to start a dissertation or research paper.
This session will show you how to develop an effective, relevant and valid research question from a general topic you may have in mind. We will cover:
- Types of questions in health research
- How to discover the scope of research available relevant to your proposed topic
- Using research frameworks to help focus your question
- Tips on how to establish your inclusion and exclusion criteria to help develop your question
