Searching evidence-based literature for NHS staff Online
Aimed at all healthcare staff (who are not doctors) working at, or affiliated with St George’s NHS Trust, who want to find evidence-based literature for their work and CPD. For doctors see 'Searching Evidence-based literature Online workshop for NHS doctors'.
What does it cover?
In this session, your NHS Librarian will guide you through the NHS Knowledge & Library Hub and other essential online resources (see below).
The workshop includes:
- Planning and designing an effective search strategy
- Effective use of search techniques e.g. phrase searching, truncation
- Searching for healthcare literature using the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub
- Identifying specialist resources e.g. TRIP Pro database, MAG Online Library, Royal Marsden Manual Online, BrowZine Journals, Oxford Medicine Online, Kortext, etc.
- Locating, accessing or requesting full text articles from Library Services
- One click access to article with LibKey Nomad
You'll learn how to navigate these tools efficiently and use them to find high quality evidence-based articles, ebooks, databases, guidelines etc to support your work in patient care, service improvements, teaching, clinical audit or CPD.
IMPORTANT: An OpenAthens login will be necessary to access these resources. Register for an OpenAthens account We recommend registering at least two days prior to the workshop.
